Angela C.
Over 10 years ago I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. As I learned to cope with the symptoms of the disease, I initially struggled to find ways to maintain consistency in my active lifestyle. Crossfit provides me a supportive community, where I am challenged athletically yet still able to manage the symptoms of Crohns’s. Crossfit has positively impacted my mental and physical health, and the support of my coaches and other athletes is a constant motivator.
What makes you stay at CrossFit HCC?
The people and the community. I can’t put into words how supportive all the coaches are. Crossfit is about being part of a community where everyone motivates each other to succeed, and Crossfit HCC embodies this principle whole heartedly.
Advice for newbies?
Give it time and have patience! When I first started, I was so nervous about not knowing all of the moves or having the right technique. Learning to put my trust in the coaches has made all the difference. Surround yourself with people who will push you beyond what you think you are capable of.
